Summary of role

Plymouth Pavilions is the South West’s leading live entertainment venue and the city’s largest conference and banqueting space. With a varied and eclectic range of live acts taking to the Pavilions Arena stage throughout the year, from comedy to rock to Irish dancing, the venue welcomes over 100k customers every year.

The Pavilions Marketing Department is a dynamic and fast paced department, working across the Arena programme needs of the organisation. With an exciting future ahead, the department is poised to develop its marketing strategy further, to build and grow its already excellent reputation amongst national show promoters and external stakeholders.

As our Marketing Assistant every day is a new adventure. You’ll play a pivotal role in promoting our venue, events, and experiences to a wide audience. You will work as part of a close knit team within the Sales & Marketing department across a broad spectrum of marketing mediums and campaigns. Your workload will include website content management, social media marketing, email marketing, design, creative copy writing and more!

Principal responsibilities
  1. To contribute to the planning and implementation of an effective marketing strategy for the organisation, both on and offline.
  2. To contribute to the effective running of the department, making sure that all administration, communication, design and analytical tasks are complete and up to date.
  3. To contribute to the planning, buying and placement of all paid for marketing activity in accordance with the marketing strategy, and to ensure that this activity is well supported and complimented to deliver a relevant and intelligent presence where appropriate.
  4.  To ensure that the Pavilions’ public profile both on and offline is fresh, cohesive, creative and accurate at all times.
  5. To provide marketing guidance and support across the organisation.
Principal Tasks
  1. To work as part of the Marketing Team to create and deliver organisational wide marketing campaigns, on time and within budget, as directed.
  2. To support the delivery of seasonal campaigns as part of the Marketing Team.
  3. To ensure that the Pavilions’ online presence including the Plymouth Pavilions website, keeping profiles fresh, accurate and balanced in order to maintain a cohesive and engaging dialogue to ultimately drive online sales and traffic.
  4. To, with direction, be responsible for the timely management of company social media accounts, work with the team on creative social media campaigns and executing them to a high standard. Taking on board new trends and developing content to engage audiences and maximise on ticket sales.
  5. To take ownership of regular weekly emails to the customer database, creating engaging email content and monitoring performance.
  6. To provide cross departmental marketing support and guidance where appropriate, in particular, during the on-sale periods for performances and events.
  7. To create artwork and content in line with branding guidelines for print, online and in house promotion.
  8. To ensure that the highest standards of accuracy and creativity are applied across all copywriting and art-working, as directed.
  9. To work as part of the team to ensure that the marketing budget is adhered to and that re-charge opportunities are maximised.
  10. To ensure all marketing administration is kept fully up to date and accurate, to allow for statistical reporting when necessary.
  11. To ensure that all marketing activity wherever possible is supported by CRM data.
  12. To provide and assist with the generation of marketing reports and analysis; including, but not limited to our inhouse CRM system, campaigns, Google Analytics and social media insights.
  13. To ensure that all work is completed to deadline, and within budget and that an accurate financial record is kept.
  14. To undertake such duties or tasks commensurate with the post from time to time as directed.
