Salary£26,000 per annum + Sales Commission
Summary of role

Through the developing and nurturing of key strategic relationships, the Business Development Executive will drive income via an exciting portfolio of memberships, sponsorships and venue hire opportunities.

Principal responsibilities
  1. To identify, nurture and develop key strategic partnerships (principal tasks 1–7).
  2. To maximise new and existing revenue opportunities (principal tasks 8–12).
  3. To meet and exceed financial performance targets, as set by the CEO (principal tasks 13–15).
  4. To support the delivery of strategic planning processes (principal tasks 16–17).
Principal Tasks
  1. To identify and cultivate strong, new, local B2B partnerships.
  2. To nurture existing strategic partnerships, whilst maximising opportunity for growth.
  3. To identify and pair client needs to the Pavilions’ portfolio of products and services.
  4. To develop, maintain and nurture successful relationships with key stakeholders through attending appropriate networking events.
  5. To participate in, and contribute towards, Plymouth’s strategic groups for, but not limited to, destination and business tourism marketing.
  6. To work alongside the Pavilions Marketing Team to reinforce partnerships.
  7. To, with the Pavilions Marketing Team, dynamically promote the venue’s portfolio of memberships, sponsorships and venue hire opportunities, via both traditional and digital routes.
  8. To drive revenue through the proactive promotion, sale and renewal of corporate memberships.
  9. To maximise revenue through the onboarding of corporate sponsors.
  10. To reinvigorate and grow local and national appetite for corporate venue hire.
  11. To identify and develop new revenue opportunities for consideration by the Senior Leadership Team.
  12. To develop and maintain good communication with all departments, taking time to consider and understand the capabilities of the business and convert that knowledge into profitable sales opportunities.
  13. To contribute towards the setting of challenging, yet realistic, departmental financial targets.
  14. To participate in the monitoring of relevant income and expenditure, and implement appropriate remedial action in circumstances of budgetary variance,
  15. To strive to exceed financial targets, through the provision of a diverse and profitable product offer.
  16. To identify and analyse Client and Visitor trends and subsequently implement change where appropriate.
  17. To contribute to, and inform, management and programme planning decisions from a Business Development perspective.
  18. To ensure thorough implementation of company policies, including, but not limited to, the collection and control of data, thus ensuring full compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  19. To communicate effectively with peers, staff and external contacts to achieve results to the best advantage of the company.
  20. To undertake such duties or tasks commensurate with the post from time to time, as required
